Required by various applications, there are different forms, except helical, of compression springs such as conical, concave, convex or combinations, etc. These springs usually contain the highest potential energy when the spring is compressed. Compression springs offer resistance to linear compressing forces (push), and are in fact one of the most efficient energy storage devices available. They are found in a wide variety of applications ranging from automotive engines, medical devices, Electronics and instrumentation devices, etc. Teamco provides compression springs in a variety of materials and surface finishes based on requirements of each application. Either carbon steel, stainless steel or alloy steels, the material selection involves a number of factors such as ambient temperatures and corrosive environments when the springs are used.

The spring end may be ground or unground, and the end coils may be open or closed. The flattened (or ground) spring ends increase the contact area of the spring. In some applications such as valve springs, the springs ends are usually flat (ground) to ensure that the seat seals properly. This also helps with spring stability. Below are popular types.
